A great relationship between an athlete and a coach is like a great marriage.
It's a mutual relationship based on trust, commitment, hard work, passion and intuition. Once there is a good coach or a mentor by your side, you will never feel alone. You will break through the barriers, build your confidence, fine tune your skills, and gain a heightened sense of purpose.
This is exactly what happened to me after I asked Martin Zajac “Coach of the Champions”, to train me. After we started working together, I realised how many mistakes I had been making. My performance and my confidence increased with each training session. For the first time, I was fuelled by purpose and I felt true enjoyment and satisfaction with my progress - physical, mental and even spiritual.
Gaining insights from this experience, I felt inspired to dig deeper. I reached out to experts across a range of sports—from deep freediving, swimming to martial arts, and even the man who holds the world record for the longest plank: 9 hours and 38 minutes! Learning both physical and mental strategies from these extraordinary humans and elite coaches allowed me to integrate diverse knowledge into my own training. I put it all into practice during my world record attempt—completed with a smile on my face—and now, I draw on these lessons when coaching others.
